DIY - Vintage China Jewelry Stand

I love to collect vintage china. There are so many romantic and lovely patterns. By combining these mismatched pieces I have created beautiful jewelry display stands. These towered stands are a wonderful way to display as well as store your unique vintage jewelry.
It really is very easy to create these one of a kind jewelry stands.
To make your own vintage china jewelry stand like these,  you need only a few supplies.
I like to have a variety of vintage china. In this grouping I have a dinner plate, a salad plate, a tea cup and a vintage brass candle stick. I use an all purpose glue called E-6000. You can get this glue in craft stores or on line. I know some Etsy shops sell this glue as well. It works on china, metal, plastic and wood.
Apply  a continuous bead of glue on the underside edge of the bottom of the candle stick. Then position the candle stick in the center of the dinner plate. Be sure to put a good amount of glue on the candle stick. If a little of the glue seeps out use a damp paper towel to wipe off the excess before the glue dries. This glue dries clear.
Now put a rim of glue on the top of the candle stick. This candle stick has a nice flat area, perfect for the glue.
Once you have the glue on the top of the candle stick position the bottom center of the salad plate on top of the glued candle stick. I then put a heavy object on top of the salad plate and let the glue dry over night.
If you like, on the next day you can add a tea cup to the top of the salad plate. Just put a circle of glue on the bottom rim of the cup and position the cup in the middle of the salad plate. Put something heavy in the cup and once again, let the glue dry over night.
There you go, a beautiful vintage china jewelry display stand. The teacup on top is a perfect place to put fresh or silk flowers, adorable in a shabby chic decor. You can also use these stands for displaying cookies or other goodies at a party. They look fantastic on a table all set for tea. Make a bunch of them for a bridal shower or baby shower and then use them for give away prizes at the end of the party.

  1. I have to say that I genuinely love the way you have found to re-purpose the vintage items you find. Really simple and beautiful. On that note, have you ever seen the amazing Etsy shop that makes wedding bouquets out of old flower shaped broaches? They are stunning. Wish I could remember the shop name....
